Mitochondrial signalling
We are interested in understanding how the mitochondrial proteome is assembled during biogenesis and how this process is regulated by cytosolic and mitochondrial signaling cascades. Additionally, we investigate how the composition and function of mitochondrial proteins can be adjusted to meet changing cellular demands. A crucial aspect of our research is examining how signal switches within the protein import machinery influence these processes in both health and disease.
